Aurora is located in the Region of York of the Greater Toronto Area and boarders Newmarket to the north and Richmond Hill to the south. This affluent town, just north of the Oak Ridges Moraine, has been consistently ranked in the top 10 wealthiest cities in Canada. The area is currently experiencing rapid growth with many families and organizations attracted to the affordability, the amenities and scenic open spaces of the area compared to its southern neighbours. Many new residential developments are underway or in advanced planning stages along Bayview Avenue and in the areas north of Wellington Street East (Aurora Road) near Leslie Street.
Areas of growth will develop through intensification along the Yonge and Wellington Street corridors. New transportation systems are being implemented by York Region Transit including the VIVA rapid bus transit lines to support this growth. Aurora’s GO Transit hub is only a five minute drive away.
Many large multinational organizations call Aurora home including State Farm Insurance, Magna International, and Bulk Barn Canada. They are all attracted to its highly skilled labour force with 75% having post-secondary education and 46% with university education.
Only 30 minutes north of the city of Toronto, Aurora offers modern urban amenities, a diverse economy, a well-educated and skilled workforce, excellent transportation connections and a highly-evolved technological infrastructure – all with a small town lifestyle.
